Presenting the budget, Finance
Minister Sardar Owais Ahmad Khan Leghari said the total budget is 22% higher
than the current financial year, out of which Rs 1.712 billion has been
earmarked for current expenditure. On Wednesday, Punjab Finance Minister Awais
Leghari presented the Punjab Budget 2022-23 in the provincial assembly meeting
at Aiwan-e-Iqbal after which Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi adjourned the
budget session amid deadlock.

The provincial finance minister has presented the provincial budget of
Rs 3.226 trillion for the financial year 2022-2023 and here you can find all

Leghari MNA presented the budget of Punjab for the financial year 2022-23 of
about 3 trillion (3226 billion). Out of this 3226 billion, 1712 billion was proposed for
Punjab govt. expenditure.

200 billion for cheap flour is proposed for the poor. Rs 142 billion is proposed for low-cost daily necessities, fertilizers and other travel services. Main objective of Punjab Budget 2022-23
In his budget speech, the minister said that Punjab has estimated its total revenue collection at Rs 2,521.29 billion, under which Punjab will get Rs 2,020.74 billion from the federally distributed fund, while provincial collections (Own Source Revenue) are estimated. 500.53 billion for FY 2022-23, up 24% from Rs. 405 billion for the fiscal year 2021-22. The federal minister said Rs 435.87 billion has been allocated for salaries, Rs 312 billion for pensions and Rs 528 billion for local governments. The finance minister said that no new service tax will be levied in the next financial year.
He said that in order to increase the provincial revenue, the share of stamp duty has been proposed to be increased from the current one per cent to two per cent. Awais Leghari said that 35% of the annual development program.
