The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) is a national organization in Pakistan that works to promote agricultural research and development in the country. It was established in 1981 by the government of Pakistan to improve the productivity, efficiency, and sustainability of the agricultural sector.

PARC's main objectives are to:

1.      Conduct research and development activities in the field of agriculture and related sciences.

2.      Develop and promote new technologies and practices for sustainable agricultural production.

3.      Collaborate with national and international organizations to improve the agricultural sector in Pakistan.

4.      Provide technical assistance and advice to farmers, extension workers, and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector.

5.      Promote capacity building in the agriculture sector by providing training and education programs.

PARC is headquartered in Islamabad, Pakistan, and operates through a network of research institutes and centers across the country. Its research activities cover a wide range of areas, including crop improvement, water management, livestock development, and natural resource management.

PARC also works closely with other national and international organizations, such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), to enhance its research and development activities and to promote knowledge sharing and capacity building.
