NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) is the Pakistani government agency responsible for the registration of the country's citizens and issuance of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs). NADRA was established in 2000 as an independent organization under the Ministry of Interior.

NADRA's main objective is to maintain a database of all Pakistani citizens and provide secure identification and authentication services. In addition to issuing CNICs, NADRA also provides various other services, such as family registration certificates, birth and death certificates, and arms licenses.

NADRA has also been involved in various projects, such as the creation of a database of Afghan refugees living in Pakistan and the issuance of Pakistani passports. NADRA has also been involved in international projects, such as providing assistance to other countries in the development of their identity management systems.

Overall, NADRA plays a vital role in maintaining the security and integrity of Pakistan's identity management system.
